Custom Furniture Dubai: Bespoke Design, Joinery and Manufacturing

Renovel designs and manufactures custom made furniture for homes, villas, apartments and offices across Dubai and the UAE. Fitted wardrobes and kitchens, sofas and beds, dining and coffee tables, office desks and reception counters. Every piece is built to your dimensions, in your finish, in our own Al Quoz joinery workshop, using materials specified for the UAE climate rather than for a European one.

What Custom Furniture Covers, and Who It Is For

Custom furniture means two different things in Dubai, and it helps to separate them. The first is fitted joinery: wardrobes, kitchens, vanity units, media walls and storage built into the fabric of the room. The second is loose furniture: sofas, beds, dining tables, desks and consoles made as freestanding pieces. We do both, in the same workshop, which is why a client can get a bedroom where the wardrobe finish, the headboard fabric and the bedside tables were specified together instead of assembled from three suppliers.

The people who come to us usually arrive with one of four problems. A room with dimensions that no showroom product fits, such as a 3.2m bedroom wall or a corner that swallows a metre of usable space. Developer-supplied joinery that has aged badly, which is common at the three to five year mark in Dubai handovers. A design language they want carried across a whole property, so the office desk relates to the dining table. Or a commercial fit-out on a deadline, where a landlord wants one contractor accountable for every fixed item.

If your project is one room rather than a property, go straight to the relevant page below. If it is a whole apartment or villa, our interior design service plans the scheme first and the workshop builds to it. For a broader introduction to the market, read our guide to custom furniture in Dubai.

Custom Furniture Prices in Dubai (2026)

Fitted joinery is quoted per linear metre of wall. Loose furniture is quoted per piece. These are current Dubai market ranges for work delivered, installed and warranted, and they are the ranges we quote inside. VAT at 5 percent is added to the total.

Item Typical range What sits behind the number
Fitted and built-in wardrobes AED 1,200 to 3,500 per linear metre Full height including carcass, doors, internals, hardware and installation. Melamine at the bottom, natural veneer at the top.
Kitchen cabinetry AED 1,500 to 4,000 per linear metre Base and wall units priced separately per metre. Worktop, appliances and sink are quoted as their own line items.
Custom sofas AED 4,500 to 18,000 Two-seat in a standard weave at the low end, large sectional in full-grain leather at the top.
Beds with upholstered headboard AED 6,000 to 20,000 King size with a channelled or buttoned headboard, storage base and side-lift mechanism sit in the middle of the range.
Dining tables AED 6,000 to 25,000 Solid timber, veneered or natural stone. Marble tops carry the biggest jump because of slab yield and edge work.
Coffee, console and side tables AED 3,200 to 9,000 Timber, metal or marble. Small pieces cost more per kilo than large ones because setup time is the same.
TV units and media walls AED 6,000 to 25,000 Cable management, ventilation for AV kit and a recessed screen niche drive the difference from a simple sideboard.
Office desks and workstations AED 3,500 to 12,000 per position Cable trays, modesty panels and integrated power raise the cost above a plain top on legs.
Reception counters AED 8,000 to 30,000 Curved fronts, solid surface tops and integrated lighting are the usual cost drivers.
Reupholstery of existing pieces From AED 800 per chair A frame worth keeping is almost always cheaper to recover than replace. See our upholstery page for per-piece pricing.

What raises the price

  • Sprayed lacquer and natural veneer over laminate, which can add 30 to 60 percent to a cabinetry front
  • Curves, tapers, mitred corners and grain-matched runs, all of which multiply setup time in the workshop
  • Natural stone tops, where slab yield and edge profiling matter more than area
  • Integrated lighting, power, cable management and soft-close mechanisms
  • Imported hardware and designer fabrics with their own 2 to 6 week supply lead time

What lowers it

  • Ordering a property package in one production batch rather than room by room
  • Repeating one door style and one internal layout across bedrooms
  • Reserving the premium finish for a feature elevation and using laminate elsewhere
  • Keeping sound existing carcasses and replacing only fronts, hardware and internals
  • Recovering a good frame instead of replacing it, which our upholstery workshop handles

How Our Custom Furniture Process Works

Six stages from first call to handover. You approve the design and the fixed price at stage three, before a single board is cut.

01

Consultation and brief

We talk through what the room has to do, what you own, how you use it and what your budget is. Honest numbers at this stage save a redesign later.

02

Survey and measurement

Laser measurement of every wall at multiple heights, floor levels, ceiling drops, and the position of every socket, grille and pipe. Dubai walls are rarely square, and we design for that.

03

Design, samples and quote

Drawings and elevations, 3D visuals on larger packages, physical finish and fabric samples in your hand, then a fixed line-by-line quotation.

04

Workshop manufacture

Cutting, CNC drilling, edge banding, veneering, spraying, frame building and upholstery, all in our Al Quoz facility. Everything is dry-assembled and checked before it ships.

05

Delivery and installation

Protected transport, building access arranged, then installation, levelling, scribing to out-of-square walls and connection of any integrated lighting.

06

Handover and aftercare

A walkthrough with you, adjustment of every hinge, runner and door, a care sheet, spare fittings, and a return visit within the warranty period to re-align anything that settles.

Materials Specified for UAE Conditions

Dubai sits at roughly 60 percent average relative humidity year round, coastal districts hit 70 to 90 percent through summer, and air conditioning swings the same room across a wide temperature band every day. Furniture built to a European specification does not always survive that. Board grade, adhesive, edge sealing and finish system all have to be chosen for the conditions the piece will actually live in.

Moisture-resistant MDF

Green or blue core, resin-treated against water absorption, about 10 to 15 percent dearer than standard MDF. Our default for cabinet carcasses, doors and painted surfaces across Dubai properties.

Marine and BWP plywood

Cross-plied with phenolic adhesive so moisture cannot travel straight through. Specified for kitchens, vanity units, ground-floor villas, coastal properties and any shelf carrying real weight.

Solid hardwood

Oak, walnut, teak and ash for table tops, frames and exposed legs. Kiln-dried to a moisture content suited to an air-conditioned interior, then sealed on all faces so it moves evenly.

Natural veneer

Real timber face on a stable core, sequence-matched across doors and panels so grain reads continuously. Gives you a solid-wood look on a substrate that will not cup in a humid room.

PU lacquer and laminate

Sprayed lacquer in any RAL colour, matt through gloss, cured in a dust-free booth. High-pressure laminate where hard wear matters more than depth of colour.

Natural stone

Marble, travertine and quartzite cut and edge-finished in house for tops, plinths and TV units. Sealed for UAE conditions and templated on site before cutting.

Metal

Powder-coated steel, stainless and solid brass for frames, bases and detailing. Powder coat rather than paint, because paint chips at every handling point.

Performance fabrics and leather

Woven performance cloth, velvet, boucle and full-grain leather, chosen for UV stability and for the way heavy air conditioning dries out a hide over time.

Hardware

Blum, Hettich and Hafele hinges, runners and lift systems rated for 50,000 to 100,000 cycles. Every panel edge banded on all four sides, including the ones nobody sees.

The rule we work to: plywood or moisture-resistant MDF anywhere humidity or weight is involved, sealed edges on every panel including the hidden ones, and no raw particleboard anywhere in the build.

Lead Times

Measured from design approval, not from your first enquiry. Finish choice moves these more than size does, because sprayed and veneered surfaces need curing time that cannot be compressed.

Scope Lead time
Small pieces: bedside tables, shelving, single chairs 1 to 2 weeks
Wardrobes and kitchen cabinetry, laminate or melamine 3 to 4 weeks
Wardrobes and cabinetry in lacquer or veneer 4 to 5 weeks
Custom sofas and upholstered beds 3 to 5 weeks
Marble tables and stone-topped units 4 to 6 weeks
Full apartment or villa furniture package 6 to 10 weeks

Imported handles, specialist glass, designer fabrics and stone slabs sourced to order add 2 to 6 weeks, which is why we lock those selections during design rather than mid-production.

Why Renovel

A large share of the companies selling bespoke furniture in Dubai are trading businesses: they take your brief, mark it up, and place the order with a joinery in Al Quoz or Sharjah. We are the workshop. That removes a layer of cost, a layer of communication, and the argument about who is responsible when something is wrong.

Al Quoz workshop

Beam saw, CNC, edge bander, veneer press, spray booth, upholstery bench and stone cutting under one roof, in the Dubai joinery district with same-day access to board, hardware and slab suppliers.

Design and build together

Interior designers and makers in the same company, so a drawing is never issued that the workshop cannot build, and a detail is never lost between two firms.

Fixed price, named specification

Quotes name the board grade, finish system, hardware brand and every fitting. A quote that says only bespoke wardrobe is a quote that can move later.

UAE-wide delivery and install

All seven emirates, installed by our own crew rather than a local subcontractor, with contractor NOC and insurance paperwork prepared where buildings require it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does custom furniture cost in Dubai?

Cabinetry is priced per linear metre and loose furniture per piece. Fitted wardrobes run AED 1,200 to 3,500 per linear metre and kitchen cabinetry AED 1,500 to 4,000 per linear metre, both including carcass, doors, hardware and installation. Loose pieces start around AED 3,200 for a bedside table, AED 4,500 for a two-seat sofa, AED 6,000 for a dining table and AED 6,000 for a TV unit, rising to AED 18,000 to 30,000 for large sectionals, stone-topped tables and reception counters. VAT at 5 percent is added on top. We issue a fixed line-by-line quote before anything is cut.

Is custom made furniture cheaper than buying from a Dubai showroom?

For fitted items, almost always. A built-in wardrobe or kitchen made to your wall costs less per usable litre of storage than a modular system that leaves gaps at the ends and a void above. For loose furniture the comparison is closer: a custom sofa sits somewhere between mid-market retail and imported designer pricing, but you choose the exact dimensions, the frame construction and the foam density rather than accepting what fits on a container. Where custom clearly wins is any awkward space, any non-standard dimension, and anything that has to match something you already own.

How long does custom furniture take to manufacture in Dubai?

Small pieces such as bedside tables and shelving take 1 to 2 weeks. Wardrobes and kitchen cabinetry take 3 to 4 weeks in laminate or melamine and 4 to 5 weeks in lacquer or veneer, because sprayed finishes need curing time between coats. Custom sofas and upholstered beds take 3 to 5 weeks, marble-topped pieces 4 to 6 weeks, and a full apartment or villa package 6 to 10 weeks. We give you a firm date at quotation stage, not a range.

What materials survive Dubai humidity and heat?

Dubai averages roughly 60 percent relative humidity across the year and coastal areas reach 70 to 90 percent in summer, while air conditioning cycles the same room through a wide temperature swing every day. Moisture-resistant MDF, recognisable by its green or blue core, is the right substrate for cabinet carcasses and painted doors. Marine or BWP-grade plywood goes into kitchens, vanities, ground-floor villas and coastal properties. Solid hardwood is kiln-dried and sealed on every face so it moves evenly. Raw particleboard, unsealed edges and thin PVC wraps are what fail here, and we do not use them.

Can you match or extend furniture I already own?

Yes, and it is a large part of what a joinery workshop is for. Send photographs, the dimensions and, if possible, a small offcut or a spare fitting. We colour-match lacquer to a physical sample, select veneer to match an existing grain and tone, and produce a sample panel for your approval before we put the run into production. Matching an aged finish is never exact, so we will tell you honestly how close we expect to get before you commit.

Do you offer a full furniture design and build service, or manufacturing only?

Both. Some clients arrive with drawings from their own designer, and we manufacture and install to those drawings. Others start with an empty apartment and want the whole thing handled: space planning, a furniture layout, 3D visuals, material selection, manufacture and installation, delivered as one package with one point of contact. Our interior design team handles the front end and our Al Quoz workshop the back end, so you are not coordinating a designer and a joinery yourself.

Do you deliver and install across the UAE?

Yes. We deliver and install across all seven emirates: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Installation is carried out by our own crew rather than a local subcontractor, so the people who assemble your furniture are the people accountable for it. For buildings that require contractor NOCs or insurance documentation, we prepare and submit the paperwork.
