Furniture Moving Dubai: Licensed Furniture Movers Across the UAE
Renovel moves furniture across all seven UAE emirates: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. One crew surveys, packs, dismantles, transports, rebuilds and clears the packaging, and we prepare the building move permit and book the service lift while we are at it. Delivery and assembly are included in the price, not charged on top.
What Our Furniture Moving Service Covers
Most people searching for furniture movers in Dubai are doing one of three things: leaving a tower flat at the end of a tenancy, upsizing to a villa, or shifting a single awkward piece that will not fit in a car. We price all three the same way, as a defined job with a written number attached, and we bring the same crew, the same closed truck and the same protection whether it is one sofa or a five-bedroom house.
Apartment Moving
Studio to 4-bedroom apartments, within one building or across the UAE. We book the service lift, protect the corridors, and carry everything down without touching the passenger lift.
Villa Moving
Full villa moves with garden furniture, appliances, oversized wardrobes and heavy dining sets. Larger crew, more than one truck, planned as a single day where possible.
Office Moving
Desks, pedestals, meeting tables, safes, server racks and filing. We run office moves in the evening or over the weekend so your team logs in as normal on Monday.
Single Item Moving
One sofa, one wardrobe, one American fridge, one marble table. Priced as a single job rather than a half-day truck hire you do not need.
Inter-Emirate Moving
Dubai to Abu Dhabi, Dubai to Sharjah, Sharjah to Dubai, and every other combination across the seven emirates. One crew loads and the same crew unloads.
Packing Only
Some clients want the packing done properly and will move the boxes themselves. We pack, label and inventory, and leave the transport to you.
Dismantle and Reassemble
Fitted wardrobes, bunk beds, flat-pack units, bed frames and modular sofas taken apart with the fixings bagged and labelled, then rebuilt at the new address.
Furniture Removal and Disposal
Old pieces you are not taking with you removed on the same visit, so you are not left with a broken wardrobe in an empty flat on handover day.
Delivery and Assembly Included
Every item is carried into the room you choose and assembled where needed. Delivery and assembly are part of the move price, not a separate line.
How a Renovel Move Runs, Start to Finish
Eight stages, one point of contact. The survey happens before the price, the approvals happen before the truck, and nothing on move day is improvised.
Survey and Fixed Quote
A walkthrough on site or a video call on WhatsApp. We count the rooms, look at what is bulky, check floor level, lift size and truck access, then send one written price. No hourly meter running on move day.
Booking and Building Approvals
We hold the date, then prepare the move permit pack your building or community asks for: our trade licence, our goods-in-transit insurance certificate, the truck plate numbers and the crew list. We book the service lift slot at both ends.
Packing
Furniture blankets and stretch wrap on soft and timber items, corner protection on glass and stone, double-wall cartons for kitchens and books, and dish barrels for crockery. Boxes are labelled by room so unloading is not a treasure hunt.
Dismantling
Beds, wardrobes, shelving and modular sofas taken apart with the right tools. Screws, cam locks and shelf pins go into a labelled bag taped to the piece they came from.
Protection and Loading
Lift interiors, door frames, lobby floors and stair nosings are covered before anything moves. Items are loaded so weight sits low and nothing shifts on the drive.
Transport
Closed box trucks, not open pickups. Loads are strapped to the rails rather than stacked loose. Routes and departure times are planned around Salik, traffic peaks and your building access window.
Unloading, Reassembly and Placement
Everything goes into the room you point at, not the hallway. Beds, wardrobes and dining tables are rebuilt, levelled and checked before we leave.
Debris Clearance and Sign-Off
Packing waste, cardboard, wrap and old furniture taken away. We walk the property with you, close the lift booking, and hand back the access cards so your deposit is released.
Price Orientation
Enough to tell you whether we are in your range. The real number comes from the survey, because two identical two-bedroom flats can differ by hundreds of dirhams once you account for a fourth-floor walk-up, a marble table, or a building that only permits moves between 9am and 5pm.
| Job | Typical range |

| Single item within one emirate | from AED 350 |

| Dubai to Abu Dhabi, apartment | AED 1,200 to 2,500 |

Building Approvals and Access, Handled for You
The part of a UAE move that catches people out is not the lifting, it is the gate. Security in a managed tower will turn a crew away without an approved move permit, and the slot you lose is usually a whole day. This is the piece we take off your desk.
The move permit, or NOC
There is no single UAE-wide form. Approval comes from your building management or master developer, in their own portal or app. Standard pack: tenancy contract or title deed, Emirates ID, the mover DED trade licence, a goods-in-transit insurance certificate, truck plate numbers, and sometimes a crew list.
Lead times differ by developer
Roughly 3 days in DMCC towers, 3 to 5 working days across Nakheel, DAMAC, Dubai Properties and Azizi, and 5 to 7 working days in Emaar and Sobha buildings. Peak season and end of month stretch all of these, so give us the building name at enquiry stage.
Service lift booking and hours
The goods lift is booked as a slot, usually 48 hours ahead. Most towers permit moves somewhere between 8am and 7pm, with Emaar commonly 9am to 5pm and DAMAC up to 7pm. Fridays, public holidays and evenings are restricted, and many communities stop all loading around midday prayers.
Refundable deposits
Towers hold a refundable deposit against damage to lifts and common areas, commonly AED 500 to 1,000 at wasl, Union Properties, Azizi and Danube, AED 500 to 2,000 at Nakheel, and AED 2,000 to 3,000 in premium Emaar and Omniyat towers. It is refunded after the common-area inspection, typically inside 7 to 14 working days.
The deposit is yours, so it is worth protecting. Lift blankets, floor runners and door-frame guards go up before the first item moves, and we photograph the common areas on arrival and departure so there is no argument about a scuff that was already there.
What Is Included, and What Costs Extra
A moving quote that lists only inclusions is half a quote. Here is both sides, written the way it appears on ours.
Included in the quoted price
- + Site or video survey and a written fixed price before you commit
- + Furniture blankets, stretch wrap, cartons, tape and labels
- + Dismantling and reassembly of beds, wardrobes, shelving and dining tables
- + Lift and corridor protection at both the old and the new address
- + Loading, transport in a closed truck, unloading and placement by room
- + Basic goods-in-transit cover on the load while it is in our care
- + Preparation of the move permit pack and booking of the service lift slot
- + Removal of packing waste at the end of the job
Quoted separately when needed
- − Air conditioner uninstall and reinstall, and any electrical or plumbing disconnection
- − Crating for marble tops, large mirrors, glass panels and artwork
- − External hoisting or a crane where a piece will not fit the lift or the stairwell
- − Storage between the move-out date and the move-in date
- − Curtain rails, wall brackets and TV mounts taken down and refitted
- − Work outside your building permitted hours, plus Friday and public holiday slots where the community allows them
- − Refundable building deposits, which are paid to the property manager and returned to you after inspection
- − Long carry where the truck cannot park within reasonable distance of the entrance
Insurance: What Standard Cover Does and Does Not Do
Two policies matter on a UAE move. Goods-in-transit cover protects your belongings while they are packed, carried and driven. Third-party or public liability protects the building: the lift car, the lobby floor, a gate arm, a neighbour car. Property managers increasingly ask to see both certificates before they will approve the permit, which is one reason a licensed mover clears security and a man with a pickup truck does not.
What basic cover normally includes
Loss or damage to the load while it is in our care during packing, handling and transport, up to the sum insured on the policy. It is a real protection, but it is a limit, not a blank cheque.
Common exclusions to know
Items packed by the owner rather than by the crew, inadequate packaging, damage that already existed, undeclared high-value pieces, goods sitting in storage, and losses caused purely by delay. These are standard across UAE policies.
When to buy extra cover
Artwork, antiques, a piano, natural stone tops, designer or bespoke pieces, and large screens. Declare the value at survey stage and we quote the right level of cover along with crating, because crating and cover work together.
Renovel holds a UAE trade licence covering furniture removal and transport, and we carry the goods-in-transit and liability certificates that building managers ask for. If a bespoke piece is damaged beyond a clean repair, we can also rebuild it in our own workshop: see custom furniture in Dubai.
How to Prepare for Moving Day
We do the heavy work, but a move runs faster and cheaper when six small things are already done before the crew arrives.
Clear the paperwork first
Utility accounts, service charges and the tenancy need to be settled before most property managers issue a move-out clearance. Start this two to three weeks out, not the night before.
Empty wardrobes and drawers
We supply wardrobe cartons on request. Loaded furniture is heavier, more likely to rack, and slower to carry.
Declare the expensive items
Art, antiques, a piano, a large stone table, high-end audio. Tell us at survey stage so the right cover, crating and crew size are in the quote.
Defrost the fridge, drain the washing machine
At least 24 hours ahead for the fridge, and the washing machine transit bolts refitted if you still have them.
Confirm parking at both ends
Loading bay, ramp height and gate access. In tower communities the truck often cannot sit at the front door, and that changes the carry distance.
Decide the layout before we arrive
A rough floor plan, or just labelled doors, means beds and wardrobes are built in the right room the first time.
Emirates We Serve
We are based in Dubai and run the northern emirates and the Abu Dhabi corridor as standard routes rather than as special trips. Inter-emirate jobs are quoted as one fixed price with tolls already inside it, so Salik crossings in Dubai and Darb crossings on the way into Abu Dhabi are not added afterwards.
Send us the address you are leaving, the address you are going to, and a couple of photos of the bulky items. That is normally enough for a same-day written quote. Prefer to talk it through first? Contact the Renovel team and we will book the survey.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does furniture moving in Dubai cost?
▾
As an orientation: a single item within one emirate starts from AED 350, a studio or 1-bedroom local move runs AED 500 to 1,200, a 2 to 3-bedroom apartment AED 900 to 2,000, and a 3 to 5-bedroom villa AED 1,500 to 4,000. Dubai to Abu Dhabi apartment moves are typically AED 1,200 to 2,500 and Dubai to Sharjah AED 900 to 1,800. Volume, floor level, lift access, packing scope and distance decide where you land inside the band. Our detailed cost guide breaks every factor down line by line, and we give you one fixed written price after the survey.
Do you handle the building move permit and the NOC?
▾
Yes, we prepare the pack and submit it with you. There is no single UAE-wide moving form: the approval comes from your building management or master developer. They almost always want the tenancy contract or title deed, your Emirates ID, our DED trade licence, our goods-in-transit insurance certificate and the truck plate numbers. Lead times differ by developer, roughly 3 days for DMCC towers in JLT, 3 to 5 working days for Nakheel, DAMAC, Dubai Properties and Azizi, and 5 to 7 for Emaar and Sobha, so tell us your building as early as you can.
How far in advance should I book furniture movers?
▾
Three to five days for an apartment and seven or more for a villa is comfortable in a normal week. Book two weeks out if your date is the last few days of the month, the first days of the next, or in the late-summer school-move rush, because that is when both truck availability and building permit queues tighten. If you need a specific morning slot in an Emaar tower, earlier again.
Is my furniture insured while you move it?
▾
Every job carries basic goods-in-transit cover on the load while it is in our care, plus third-party liability for damage to lifts, lobbies and common areas, which is also what your building wants to see on the permit. Standard cover has limits and exclusions: items packed by the owner, pre-existing damage, undeclared high-value pieces and goods left in storage are the usual ones. Declare artwork, antiques, stone tops and instruments at survey stage and we will quote the right level of cover and crating.
Do you move furniture between emirates?
▾
Yes, across all seven. Dubai to Abu Dhabi and Dubai to Sharjah are our highest-volume routes, and we also run Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Al Ain. The same crew loads and unloads, so nothing is transferred between vehicles or subcontracted mid-journey. Inter-emirate jobs are quoted as a fixed price that already includes the tolls, so Salik and Darb crossings are not added afterwards.
Can you move a single heavy item rather than a whole home?
▾
Yes. Single-item moves are one of our most requested jobs: a three-seater sofa to a new flat, a marble dining table between villas, a wardrobe to a family member in another emirate, or a piece being taken to reupholstery. It is priced as one job from AED 350 rather than as a minimum truck hire, and dismantling and reassembly are still included where the piece needs it.
